How many of you have attended groups that were absolutely wonderful with the exception of a few people that you wish could get ‘voted off the island’? Welcome to the world of Survivor Networking. This group was a brainchild of one of our clients who requested an opportunity to meet with other graduates of our ‘9 Steps to Productive Prospecting’ class who really ‘get it’. The ‘it’ being that networking is a 2 way street with each partner giving 100% to the successful outcome, which is a referral to a great opportunity.
This concept further evolved as we all recognized the value of providing industry specialization in marketing and leveraging our time through use of referral relationships. At this point we determined how many markets we are currently touching through our client relationships and developed our vertical market segments-these are the ‘tribes’ which are focusing on a given market to go after ‘in force’.
Rules for Participation:
Completion of 9 Steps Program and Graduation
Nomination to the Group
Regular Attendance
Collaborative (not Competitive) mindset
Bringing a Referral for every participant of your tribe each year
How to Get Voted off the Island:
Miss 3 meetings in a Row (without a really good excuse)
Take without Giving
Make someone look bad (who referred you)
Don’t communicate
Any unethical behavior is immediate grounds for ‘voting off’
